WHAT IS UNBOUND?

Unbound is a non-confrontational prayer model that uses the five Gospel keys of Repentance and Faith, Forgiveness, Renunciation, Authority, and The Father's Blessing to lead individuals who have faith in Jesus to experience Freedom in Christ. The approach places deliverance ministry in a loving, healing, and personal context.
 

WHAT'S THE BASIS FOR UNBOUND MINISTRY?

Jesus' Mission:

"The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captive and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed . . ." (Luke 4:18, based on Isaiah 61)

Preach the Gospel, cast out unclean spirits, and heal the sick. (Mark 16:15-18)

The Lord's Prayer:  

Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, lead us not into temptation, and deliver us from evil.
 

Unbound ministry is aligned with all of these! It sets free those who are captive or "bound" to ungodly patterns of belief, thoughts and attitudes, unhealthy mindsets, deceptions, lies, and repeated sin, temptations, addictions, and actions—typically bringing inner healing and sometimes physical healing. It can bind up the broken-hearted. Unbound Team members serve from the heart out of love of God and love and compassion for our neighbors who come for ministry. The Five Keys of the Unbound prayer model are the Gospel in a nutshell. In conformity with the Lord's Prayer, Unbound ministry helps us forgive, overcome temptation, and be delivered from the influence of the evil one. It helps us conform to the will of God, because "If the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed" (John 8:36), "the truth will set you free" (John 8:32), and "For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm, therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery [bondage]" (Galatians 5:1).   
 

WHAT DOES AN UNBOUND MINISTRY SESSION LOOK LIKE?

A typical Unbound ministry session is by appointment, in person (or sometimes via Zoom), free, and totally confidential, with two Unbound Team members listening, trusting the Holy Spirit to reveal the heart of the person coming for ministry. A session, in English or Spanish, is generally 1-1/2 to 2 hours long, beginning with a short opening prayer and listening to what's on the person's mind and heart now, as well as talking about important experiences and patterns in their life. Individuals are led through the Five Keys as means of helping them encounter Jesus, their deliverer, and to equip them for ongoing liberation. Unbound is a powerful prayer model but not a "once and done" approach that tries to uncover every bondage and heal every hurt in one session. There is some follow-up afterwards. And, once a person knows how Unbound works, they are encouraged to use it temselves on a regular basis to clear out unclean attitudes or patterns that arise in our everyday lives.
 

WHO NEEDS UNBOUND PRAYER?

We're all sinners who fall short of the glory of God, so we all need Unbound prayer. The Father wants each of us to be free in Christ and to know our identity and belonging in the Kingdom of God (knowing that Christ Jesus has won the victory over the kingdom of darkness). Many people coming for Unbound ministry have already tried to get healing or deliverance through their own prayers, intercessory prayer with friends or family members, and healing Masses, workshops, or services. Yet, the hindrances that held them were not broken or released to the full extent they hoped for, nor to the extent that they then experience through individual Unbound ministry. This explains why Unbound is now an active ministry on every continent, in numerous seminaries, and in the formation of some Catholic religious orders. It is now being used by many priests in the Sacrament of Reconciliation. It is for the worldwide Body of Christ, and it is a unifying ministry among the children of God. HOW DO YOU PREPARE TO RECEIVE PRAYER MINISTRY?

To prepare for prayer ministry, it may help to learn about Unbound by attending an Unbound Freedom in Christ conference such as one presented at the Catholic Charismatic Center, at another location, or online. You can also explore the Heart of the Father website and blog, and/or read, watch, or listen to books or electronic media offered at the Heart of the Father online store.

To prepare for a personal session, you must read the first half (up to page 120) and scan pages 239-241 of the book UNBOUND: A Practical Guide to Deliverance by Neal Lozano, or Liberado in Spanish. Reflect on your life as you read it. Once you have a good idea of what you'd like to bring to a ministry session, fill out a Request for Unbound Ministry, including a phone number where they can be reached for a screening call before scheduling. Ministry sessions are generally scheduled at least two weeks after being requested and being screened, to allow for good preparation and reflection time beforehand. Receiving the Sacrament of Reconciliation before and after an individual Unbound session is also recommended for Catholics.

There are certain limitations on who the ministry can effectively serve, based on the composition of the Unbound Team as well as factors related to the individual requesting prayer. For example, there must be a male member of the Unbound Team available to pray with a man, and there must be a female member of the team available to pray with a woman. The recipient must be of Christian faith and have Christian support. No one can be coerced into getting Unbound prayer; it must be their own choice. There are also restrictions pertaining to minors, willingness to renounce occult involvement, serious language barriers, and serious mental illness. Therefore, that's why those wishing to schedule a session are asked to include on their Request a phone number where they can be reached for a screening call before scheduling. 

IS UNBOUND CATHOLIC?

The Lozano family is Roman Catholic, and they embrace unity in the Body of Christ. UNBOUND author Neal Lozano has also served as a leader of an intentional inter-denominational community where they live in Pennsylvania. Roman Catholic Bishops and Archbishops in the U.S. and in other countries have endorsed Unbound very enthusiastically.

Amazed at How the Spirit & Team Named What I Needed to Bring Up 

Thank you so much for your prayerful participation in my Unbound session.  I am grateful beyond words for the way you allowed the Holy Spirit to work through you to speak to my heart and soul so profoundly.  I felt deeply heard and seen, especially in all the ways you were led to lead me in prayer, paying such careful attention to the details of my heart.  I also felt deeply understood, especially for the ways you were able to interpret my wounds and sins to help me find the proper things for which to ask forgiveness and to renounce. There were many things that I hadn't even explicitly given thought to or said that you were called to bring up for me to renounce and they were so very fitting, important, and helpful.  I was/am just amazed at the workings of the Holy Spirit and so grateful that you were there to pray with and for me.  I am looking forward to journaling about all of it and reflecting on all of these blessings so that I can look back on them and remember the goodness of God and how He finds a way to speak to my heart and bring me closer to Him.  Thank you for being his instruments and for playing your part in my journey of healing and growth.  I am deeply grateful.  You and your ministry will be in my prayers.

God's people need Unbound—everyone can benefit from it

I am absolutely thrilled at the freedom in Christ I experienced during my Unbound session at the Catholic Charismatic Center, and how my freedom has continued in the weeks since then. It had been about four years since my previous Unbound session. Really old feelings came up in this session that I had unconsciously suppressed for decades. I cried and released unforgiveness and self-pity, people pleasing, fear of expressing myself truthfully, and a lot of other gunk, funk, and junk during the session. Some unhealthy generational patterns were broken. When it was all commanded out and left me, I was blessedly free! Besides the leader, there were two intercessors. All three contributed beautifully to The Father's Blessing.

WOW!! Thank you, Jesus. To put into words what the Holy Spirit has done for me today is almost impossible. Dear UNBOUND Team, Thank you so much.  I experienced a deep healing as a result of my UNBOUND Prayer Session. I felt a sense of love, acceptance, and understanding from the prayer team. The most helpful thing from the UNBOUND experience was renouncing all my habitual sins in Jesus’ name and also being prayed for with hands on at the end. Going Through My Story and Cleaning Out the Rubble Helped the Most

I felt the love, understanding, and acceptance of the three team members who prayed with me, and I believe the session was very helpful because it was longer and more comprehensive than other times I’ve received Unbound prayer. Wowed by God's Awesome Works via Zoom

When our Unbound Team went virtual, we still got to witness God showing up with His dominion and supernatural touch. His omnipotence, omniscience, and omnipresence restored people through his eternal life-loving love, despite the lack of proximity. Our prayers in the Most Holy Name of Jesus were not hindered by physical location despite great distances. We even served many from as far away as India and saw miraculous signs of freedom and restoration of grace and dignity. Glory and Praise to our awesome God!

• Guidelines from Heart of the Father Ministries on following the Unbound model
• Using a Notetaking Tool and doing practice Unbound mini-sessions 
• Discussion of FAQs and Question & Answer time 
• Using the Unbound prayer model outside a team or on your own
• The responsibilities of team membership, including books and workbooks you'll need and ongoing training
• How to become a team member

 This is a ministry that must be done with tremendous love and compassion, the utmost confidentiality, the leading of the Holy Spirit, and great sensitivity to the emotional, spiritual, and deeply personal issues people bring for healing and deliverance. Therefore, Basic Training is just the beginning. Team members grow as they serve, both from experience and from additional training. 
 
 Those in training to serve on the CCC's Unbound Team are expected to experience an Unbound ministry session for themselves prior to completion of Basic Training. Membership on the team requires a pastor's approval and is subject to mutual discernment.
